School Website

As a student teacher beginning my first of four semesters at Carnation Elementary School it is important that I begin to familiarize myself with all things Tigers, including their school website. Organizationally Carnation's website is well made. Links on the left clearly and accurately describe what they link to. Despite incredibly easy navigation I found the website to be lacking in decorative appeal. The site is not visually very pleasing and could benefit immensely from some creative touches. I also felt that the website could be reworked to include sections for the students. For the most part the site appears informational only, apparently to be used my parents and guardians.
After exploring the school's website I discovered my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Renahan's, classroom site. This site is very easy to navigate for parents and guardians with links to: newsletter, volunteer calendar, daily schedule, Artsonia, specialist schedule, class list, homework, sharing schedule and tiger of the week. My only improvement for the site would be more areas for the students themselves to use or explore.
